Ceremonies
- Where can I have my wedding ceremony?
On the deck, down by the lake, or in the lodge.- Does it cost extra for the ceremony?
There are setup fees for the deck and on the grass below. Renters can handle the setup/teardown themselves or utilize one of the stress-free packages Christiani's offers.- What if it rains on my wedding day?
The ceremony is moved inside and held in front of the beautiful fireplace while guests sit at their tables.- What about a wedding rehearsal?
We offer Thursday night rehearsal dinner specials that include a walk-through with our hostess. If you simply wish to use the deck, check our calendar for open days near your wedding date for availablility to access the deck without renting the lodge.- Can I have music outside for my ceremony?
Yes, as long as it ends by 10:00pm.- Where does the bridal party dress for the ceremony?
The lodge offers spacious restrooms with full length mirrors.
Menus
- Can I make substitutions on menus?
Yes, however, prices may increase.- Can I make my own menu?
Yes, however, prices generally increase by varying from our menus.- Are there children's menus?
We do not offer children's menus, however children 7 and under are 25% off the menu price.- What happens to any leftover food?
After food is taken off of the buffet it is disposed of. Leftovers can not be given out per order of the state health department.
Beverage Service
- Can I bring in any alcohol for my event?
Christiani's provides professional bar service inlcuding full dram insurance. Only Christiani's can provide alcoholic beverages Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Persons renting the lodge Monday-Thursday can provide beer and/or wine if they provide Christiani's and Polk County Conservation with proof of a $2,000,000 general liability insurance policy for their event and include Christiani's and Polk County Conservation in that policy. - Is security required for my event?
Polk County Conservation requires authorized security for any event in which alcohol is served. Christiani's handles the scheduling of officers at lodge events. - What happens with extra wine that is ordered but not used?
Unopened wine is given to you as you leave to take home with you.- What if I want a specific wine that is not on the beverage list?
You may bring in your own wine but it must be served through Christiani's beverage service. There is a $20.00++ per bottle corking fee on any wine brought in.
Non-Catered Events
- What if I want to bring in another caterer?
Only Christiani's can provide catered food and beverage service Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Monday-Thursday other caterers may be used. Non-catered fee will apply along with a 15% commission on food sales payable to Christiani's by your caterer or food provider. Contact Christiani's for PCCB rules, regulations and insurance requirements.- What if my event does not require food or beverage?
Non-catered fees will apply.- What if I want to bring in my own food?
Homemade food can be brought in, however, non-catered fees will apply.
Lodge Setup
- When can I get into the lodge on my date?
The lodge is opened to the bridal party, DJ, photographer, cake person, florist, etc. 1 1/2 hours prior to your rental time (8:30am or 4:30pm).- Who handles the setup and teardown of the tables and chairs?
Complete setup and teardown of tables and chairs is provided for inside the lodge when using Christiani's Catering service. Setup and teardown outside of the lodge is extra.- Can I use my own decorator?
Yes, any vendors can get in 1 1/2 hours prior to your events start time (8:30am or 4:30pm).- What if I need more time for setup?
You may rent both time slots per day with applicable fees. The lodge is not rented by the hour.
